(Baonghean.vn) - In a remote village in Chau Hoan commune, Quy Chau district, there is a shining example of the spirit of overcoming difficulties and studying well. That is Lim Thi Hoe (born in 1994, in Na Pa village, Chau Hoan commune), a 12C1 student at the district's Ethnic Minority High School.

Her family's circumstances were difficult, her mother died early, her father worked hard to raise 3 children by himself. After finishing junior high school (school year 2008-2009), Lim Thi Hoe boldly applied to Quy Chau Ethnic Minority High School with the hope of finding the most favorable learning environment to nurture her dream of repaying her father and raising her siblings.

Then, in that year's exam, Hoe passed the entrance exam to this school with a very high score. Since then, the petite student has been cycling more than 30 km home every weekend, then carrying rice, salt... to return to the dormitory. "Many days when I came home, I saw my father working hard to feed 4 mouths. Before finishing 10th grade, I had the intention of dropping out of school to work to help my father, but my father did not allow it. My father said: "Our family is poor economically, but we cannot starve for knowledge". My father's teachings followed me throughout my school years, so I was determined to study really well so as not to let my father down. Knowing my situation, the school's Board of Directors considered giving me a scholarship so that I could continue studying" - Hoe recounted.

The support of the community has helped Hoe overcome difficult circumstances. And as if to repay the kindness of his father, teachers, etc., during his years at Hoe District Ethnic Minority High School, he always achieved academic achievements that made many friends admire him: From grade 10 to grade 11, Hoe was an excellent student of the school and in the 2011-2012 school year, in the recent provincial competition for gifted students, Hoe won the first prize in Literature.

Mr. Vi Anh Tuan, teacher of class 12C1, said: "Knowing that he has difficulties, the subject teachers always create the best conditions for him to develop his abilities. I think that not only specialized schools can make him study well or rich children can study well. Hoe deserves to be a shining example for other students in the school to learn and follow."

When asked about his future plans, Hoe said: "Today's results are just the starting point. This school year, I will try to maintain my achievements and am determined to pass the university entrance exam. And I hope to be successful in the future to help my father and raise my little sister."
