The woman selling groceries was found dead in the bathroom, with a wound on her head. There were still blood stains on the floor where the incident happened.

As of 8:00 p.m. on October 28, the authorities of Hoc Mon District (HCMC) were still blocking off the scene and investigating the murder at the grocery store on Dong Thanh 1-3 Street (Hamlet 6, Dong Thanh Commune, Hoc Mon District).

The victim was initially identified as Nguyen Thi Thap (43 years old, from Thai Binh). Initial information indicated that at around 4pm that day, a resident went to the grocery store and saw blood stains on the floor, so she called the police.

Hoc Mon District authorities came to check and found Ms. Thap dead in the bathroom with a wound on her head. Checking the property in the house, the authorities noted that a motorbike was missing.

Hoc Mon District Police coordinated with professional units of Ho Chi Minh City Police to examine the scene and investigate the case.

According to relatives, Ms. Thap and her husband have been living in the house above for about a year now. Every day, she stays home alone to sell groceries while her husband cooks at a restaurant in District 12.

"Just this afternoon, I had a memorial service with this woman and her husband at a relative's house a few kilometers away," a relative of the victim recounted.
