Hailstorm and tornado damaged 149 houses in western Nghe An
(Baonghean.vn) - At around 3:30 p.m. on April 5, a large hailstorm accompanied by a tornado occurred in the border communes of Ky Son and Tuong Duong districts (Nghe An). Initial statistics show that 149 houses were damaged by the tornado and hail.

According to information from PV, hail occurred widely from Chieu Luu commune (Ky Son district) through Cua Rao, Xa Luong to Hoa Binh town (Tuong Duong district). The hail and tornado lasted for about 40 minutes.
There is currently no specific information on the damage caused by the natural disaster. Localities are actively compiling statistics and supporting damage recovery. Initial reports show that many trees were knocked down and some houses had their roofs blown off.

Every year, the mountainous districts of Nghe An often have to endure dozens of hailstorms and tornadoes, causing great damage.
According to Mr. Lo Kham Kha - Head of the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development of Tuong Duong district, authorities at all levels are urgently reviewing the damage caused by the recent rain and will have a timely report.
By 8:00 p.m. on April 5, according to local statistics, tornadoes and hail damaged 149 houses, including 108 in Thach Giam, 30 in Xa Luong, 4 in Luu Kien, and 7 in Xieng My; a duck raft of a resident in Hoa Binh Town was swept away.
