In the 2016 - 2017 dry season, Military Region 4 collected 280 martyrs' remains.
(Baonghean.vn) - Of the 280 martyrs' remains that have been collected, 187 are from Laos and 93 are from domestic areas. Of these, 14 martyrs' remains have been identified with their full names and hometowns.
On the morning of April 21, the working delegation of the National Steering Committee 1237 led by Colonel Ngo Quang Phuc - Deputy Director of the Policy Department, General Department of Politics, Chief of Office of the National Steering Committee 1237 had a working session at the Political Department of the Military Region to inspect and grasp the situation and results of the implementation of the Project "Searching for and collecting martyrs' remains" in 2017. Major General Tran Tien Dung - Deputy Political Commissar of the Military Region attended and gave a speech.
Through inspection, it was shown that in 2017, the Political Department of Military Region 4 advised the Steering Committee 1237 of Military Region 4 to direct agencies, units, and localities to implement the project "Searching for and collecting martyrs' remains" in general, and the search and collection of martyrs' remains in particular, in a positive, synchronous manner, ensuring strictness, order, efficiency, and safety.

Up to now, the main units have basically completed the review and completion of the dossiers and lists of martyrs; for the Provincial Military Command, there are 192,531 dossiers and lists of martyrs that are being focused on verifying, standardizing and gradually updating and building a database.
In the dry season of 2016 - 2017 (data up to April 17, 2017), localities and units of Military Region 4 searched and collected 187 martyrs' remains in Laos, of which 1 martyr's remains had his full name and hometown identified, 2 remains had their full names and hometowns identified; 93 martyrs' remains in the country, of which 13 martyrs' remains had their full names and hometowns identified.
Implementing Decision 75 of the Prime Minister and issued circulars, the management and use of funds, equipment, and means to ensure the service of the search and collection of martyrs' remains have been strictly maintained by the Political Department and units in the Military Region in accordance with regulations; units have proactively done a good job of maintaining and repairing vehicles and equipment, ensuring good technical coefficients and absolute safety during operations.
At the working session, the inspection delegation highly appreciated the results of the implementation of the Project of the Steering Committee 1237 of Military Region 4 in the past time, and at the same time, requested that in the coming time, the Political Department of the Military Region do a good job of advising the Steering Committee 1237 of Military Region 4 and directing units and localities to focus on reviewing and completing the dossiers and lists of martyrs of the unit; continue to synchronously deploy groups of solutions, promote propaganda work, actively collect information on martyrs' graves, organize surveys, searches, and collect the remaining martyrs' graves in the assigned area to ensure strictness and accuracy.
In implementing Circular 157 of the Ministry of National Defense, it is necessary to be active, proactive, and clearly classify the subjects to avoid confusion and errors. During the working session in Military Region 4, the delegation of National Steering Committee 1237 inspected the Military Commands of Quang Binh, Quang Tri, Thua Thien Hue provinces and Division 324.
