US plots to create a pro-Western puppet government in Iran
(Baonghean.vn) - Mr. Stephen Lendman, a journalist and political analyst in Chicago, commented on August 17 that Washington is plotting to create pro-Western puppet governments in independent and sovereign countries like Iran.

A day earlier, US Secretary of State Mike Pompeo announced the creation of the "Iran Action Group", saying the initiative would "target, consider, and coordinate all aspects of the State Department's activities related to Iran".
Speaking to reporters, Mr. Lendman stated: "I call it the Iran Action Plan for regime change. For nearly 40 years, Washington has wanted to put Iran back on the path it took after the 1953 coup that ousted democratically elected Prime Minister Mossadegh. The issue that exists between the US and Iran is sovereignty and independence. That is very important. Washington wants to control every other country. All independent countries are targets of regime change. Washington wants pro-Western puppet governments to replace them. The Trump administration is destabilizing the situation in Iran today."
According to reports, the "Iran Action Group" is headed by senior policy advisor Brian Hook, currently the State Department's Director of Policy Planning. He will report directly to Secretary Pompeo on all matters./.
