US plots to create pro-Western puppet government in Iran
(Baonghean.vn) - Mr. Stephen Lendman, a journalist and political analyst in Chicago, commented on August 17 that Washington is plotting to create pro-Western puppet governments in independent and sovereign countries like Iran.

A day earlier, US Secretary of State Mike Pompeo announced the creation of the "Iran Action Group", saying the initiative would "target, consider, and coordinate all aspects of the State Department's activities related to Iran".
Speaking to reporters, Mr. Lendman stated: "I call it the Iran Action Plan for Regime Change. For nearly 40 years, Washington has wanted to put Iran back on the path it took after the 1953 coup that ousted the democratically elected Prime Minister Mossadegh. The issue that exists between the US and Iran is sovereignty and independence. That is very important. Washington wants to control every other country. All independent countries are targets for regime change. Washington wants pro-Western puppet governments to replace them. The Trump administration is destabilizing the situation in Iran today."
According to the news, the "Iran Action Group" is headed by senior policy advisor Brian Hook, currently the Director of Policy Planning at the State Department. He will report directly to Secretary of State Pompeo on all issues./.
