US sends second aircraft carrier close to North Korea
A second US aircraft carrier, the USS Ronald Reagan, is being deployed off the Korean peninsula amid rising tensions in the region.
The move comes just days after North Korea demonstrated significant progress in its missile program by launching the Hwasong-12 missile.from Kusong, North Pyongan Province and crashed into the Sea of Japan after flying 787km east.

The USS Ronald Reagan left Japanese territorial waters on May 16 after undergoing maintenance in Yokosuka, CNN reported, citing a US Navy source.
The USS Ronald Reagan is expected to replace the USS Vinson, which was anchored near the Korean peninsula last month. The two carriers will participate in joint exercises,
The USS Ronald Reagan is a Nimitz-class nuclear-powered supercarrier. It weighs 100,000 tons, is 330 meters long, and has a speed of 56 km/h. It carries 4,539 crew members and 90 fighter aircraft of various types. It was delivered to the US Navy in 2003 and cost about $8.5 billion.
