The move is believed to be an effort to counter the threat from North Korea.

The US Pacific Air Forces announced that 200 Air Force personnel along with radar-evading aircraft were deployed to Andersen Air Force Base.
Andersen Air Force Base, a strategic US location in the Asia-Pacific, is currently home to B-1 bombers, which have been participating in military exercises on the Korean Peninsula with the Japanese Self-Defense Forces and the South Korean military. The exercises were conducted after North Korea conducted nuclear and ballistic missile tests.
It is not yet clear how long the B-2 bombers will be deployed in Guam, but the US Air Force plans to conduct exercises in the Asia-Pacific region during the B-2 deployment. The US Department of Defense explained that the deployment of the B-2 bombers is part of a military program that the US is conducting around the world./.
