US Treasury Secretary Steven Mnuchin said the Trump administration would ease restrictions on Huawei if trade talks with China made progress. However, Mnuchin said that Huawei's blacklisting was purely a national security issue and not a "non-tariff front" in the trade war. The US treasury secretary said the US was ready to reach a trade deal with China, but would maintain import tariffs if necessary.

The International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) on June 10 expressed concern about the growing tensions related to Iran's nuclear program, after Tehran announced that it might stop implementing some commitments in the historic nuclear deal, also known as the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA), which it signed with the P5+1 Group (including the UK, US, Russia, France, China and Germany) in 2015.

Speaking at the quarterly meeting of the IAEA Board of Governors, IAEA Director General Yukiya Amano reaffirmed that the nuclear-related commitments that Iran announced under the JCPOA were an important achievement, and stressed that Tehran needed to fully implement the nuclear-related commitments made under the JCPOA. According to him, major powers need to continue dialogue with Iran to maintain the JCPOA to prevent the Islamic Republic from producing nuclear weapons.

About 100 people were killed in an overnight attack on a Dogon village in Mali, officials said on June 10. Gunmen attacked the village of Sobane-Kou, located in central Mali, a local official told reporters.

The official confirmed that 95 civilians had been killed and authorities were continuing to search for others. Security sources at the scene of the massacre said the village had been almost completely wiped out.

Hundreds have been killed in clashes between the Dogon and Fulani communities in Mali since January. The two groups have a longstanding feud and frequently attack each other.
