According to Sputnik, the famous American analysis agency Stratfor, which is called by many experts and journalists as the "shadow CIA", believes that the most likely cause of the crash of the Russian Kogalymavia passenger plane in the Sinai Peninsula is that an explosive device was smuggled onto the plane.

"While noting the small likelihood of other scenarios, the most likely explanation for the crash is that there was a bomb on board," Stratfor's overview analysis said on November 2.

The agency has all but ruled out the possibility that jihadists in Sinai shot down the plane using a man-portable air defense system (MANPADS).

Stratfor experts concluded: "The disaster was not caused by an electrical failure, because if it was, the pilots would have had the opportunity to control the aircraft and no catastrophic consequences would have occurred until the aircraft hit the ground."

Stratfor has suggested not to dismiss the hypothesis of an explosive device on the plane, even after CNN reported that no traces of explosives had been found on the A321 wreckage./.
