US allocates $250 million to “counter Russian influence”?
The US Congress intends to allocate $250 million to “counter Russian influence,” according to the draft US budget for the 2018 fiscal year circulating in Congress.

Additionally, the budget will go toward “programs to strengthen democracy in Russia.”
Congress also expanded the ban on providing financial assistance to the Russian Federation, the Pentagon's cooperation with "Rosoboronexport" and imposed restrictions on other provisions on cooperation with Russia.
Congress has until Friday to pass a budget or the federal government will run out of funds. The budget must be signed by President Donald Trump.
