US will not drag on Ukraine discussions for years
The US State Department said Europe needs to understand that Washington will not drag on for years at meetings discussing the Ukraine issue.

According to Fox News on April 19, in an interview with the channel, US State Department spokeswoman Tammy Bruce said that in the context of President Donald Trump threatening to withdraw from the negotiation process on the Ukraine conflict, Washington believes that it is important for European partners to understand that the US will not prolong discussions on the Ukraine issue for many years.
"I think it's important for our European partners to know that we're not going to do this for a year. We're not going to drag out meetings on Ukraine. We're not going to wait and hope, but instead, we're going to make a big effort toward an end to the war - a ceasefire - that can happen immediately," said spokeswoman Tammy Bruce.
Earlier in the day, Axios reported, citing European officials, that the US threat to withdraw from the Ukraine talks was likely aimed more at Kiev than Moscow.
Meanwhile, the New York Times reported, citing Ukraine supporters in the US Congress, that the US government has not had any real discussions about sending new military aid packages to Kiev, after the current packages have run out.
“There is virtually no serious discussion in the White House or Congress about further arms packages for Ukraine beyond the current support,” the source said.
European officials told the New York Times that they had received no assurances from the United States that it would continue to pass intelligence to Kiev.
The New York Times further noted that, recently, the White House has been more concerned with what it will get from Ukraine, rather than what it will give to Kiev, when discussing bilateral relations.
