US continues to oppose Russia's 'Nord Stream - 2'
The United States will continue to oppose the construction of the Nord Stream 2 gas pipeline. This was stated in a written statement by the head of the US State Department posted on the agency's website.
“We will continue to oppose the completion of this project, which will undermine the energy security of Europe, Ukraine, NATO's eastern flank and the EU countries. Our position on Nord Stream 2 is unshakable... Our position is consistent with our commitment to strengthening transatlantic relations for the sake of national security,” the statement said.

During his first meeting with Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov in Reykjavik, US Secretary of State Antony Blinken confirmed that the State Department's report to the US Congress named four Russian ships involved in the construction of the Nord Stream 2 gas pipeline, on which the US intends to impose sanctions.
He also confirmed that the US State Department had submitted a report to Congress listing four ships and five entities involved in the pipeline’s construction. Blinken noted that these entities would be subject to sanctions, but did not directly answer the question of whether these restrictions had been imposed or would be imposed.
Earlier, the United States imposed and immediately temporarily suspended sanctions against Nord Stream 2 AG, the company building the gas pipeline, and named four ships and four organizations "that will be subject to sanctions" related to the construction of this project./.
