According to RIA Novosti, US Secretary of Commerce Howard Lutnick said in an interview with Fox News on March 2 that the US will not provide funding to Ukraine until President Volodymyr Zelensky agrees to peace.

“Mr. Zelenksy needs to hear directly from the United States, his main financial backer: ‘We will not give money to Kiev until the Ukrainian government comes back to us in peace,’” Mr. Lutnick said.

The US Secretary of Commerce also noted that Washington does not intend to provide security guarantees to Ukraine until the military conflict ends.

"It's ridiculous. Mr. Zelensky's demands are ridiculous. They are unreasonable," Minister Lutnick added.

Earlier, on March 2, US Secretary of State Marco Rubio made a similar statement. Accordingly, the US has repeatedly explained to Ukraine that achieving peace is more important than ensuring security.

Instead of the United States, not even NATO, but the European Union will be responsible for ensuring Ukraine's future security.

“The plan is that the European Union will provide these security guarantees, not NATO,” US Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent said in an interview with CBS News.

On the Ukrainian side, many National Assembly deputies have called for President Volodymyr Zelensky to be immediately removed from office, because he has threatened Ukraine's survival and hindered the stabilization of relations with the United States.
