Previously, AP news agency reported that 70 people were killed and hundreds were missing in a landslide in Myanmar.
Thousands of cubic meters of rock and soil collapsed on a row of makeshift sleeping huts in the remote mountainous area of Hpakant, near the border with China, according to local authorities.
This is not the first time such an incident has occurred in Myanmar. According to a non-governmental organization, in recent months, scores of poor people in Myanmar have tried their luck in old mines of mining companies at night. Due to lack of experience and protective equipment, many tragic accidents have occurred.
It is known that Myanmar is one of the world's jade suppliers, especially to China.
