Male student murdered by landlord, body dumped in sack
Half a month after going missing, Tuan's body was found in a sack in a banana bush on the side of the road in the My Dinh area of Hanoi.
On April 27, Nam Tu Liem District Police (Hanoi) announced that the body found in a sack on Tan My Street (My Dinh 1 Ward) was Vu Thanh Tuan (22 years old), a final year student at Hanoi University of Transport.
The suspect is Chu Tuan Son (49 years old), residing in My Dinh 1 ward. Son's house has been sealed by the police because it is suspected that this is the place where the murder took place.
This afternoon, more than 20 uniformed police officers, prosecutors, and medical staff participated in the crime scene investigation for nearly an hour. A man in black with handcuffs was brought out of the official car. He carried a sack, which he then threw into the banana bushes.

Morning of April 27,Son's estranged wife, who has been estranged for many years, said that he lives a vagrant life, without a job, and abandons his two young children. "A few years ago, my husband and I built four rooms to rent out to earn income. We live in the same house but we never talk or care about each other's lives," she said.
About two kilometers from Son's house, in a three-story house in a small alley on My Dinh street, Tuan's father saidOn the afternoon of April 9, he asked his mother for permission to go party with friends and did not return home until midnight. His father was worried and called his son many times but he did not pick up. Worried that something bad had happened, the next evening the family reported it to the police.
Fifteen days after his son went missing, at noon on April 24, he received a notice from the police of My Dinh 1 ward to identify the body suspected to be Tuan. “Although the face was disfigured, the body and clothes were very similar to Tuan,” he recounted, adding that his wife fainted at that moment. His family still did not believe the victim was their son, so they left.
However, later results confirmed that the young man in the sack was Tuan. His family was invited to receive their son and arrange the funeral.

Earlier, on the morning of April 22, while picking up scrap metal in a banana bush about 5 meters from Tan My Street, a woman suddenly saw what looked like a foot sticking out of a sack. She opened the sack and discovered the body of a man.
Another woman said that about 10 days ago, while collecting scrap, she saw a rather large sack in a banana bush."I pulled the sack out to see what was inside, but I suspected it contained soil because it was so heavy that I didn't open it," she said, adding that in the following days, when she passed by this area, she smelled a strong stench.
On the morning of April 24, she was shocked when she read in the newspaper that a male body in a sack was found in that area.
