Nghe An male student 'conquers' American university

(Baonghean.vn)- Tran Quoc Nam, a student from Nghe An, has just received an invitation from Dickinson College - one of the top 41 best schools in the US according to US News & World Report magazine.

Nam won 3rd prize in national math for 2 consecutive years, excellent in English, Tran Quoc Nam in grade 2, Yen Thanh town, Yen Thanh district, Nghe An, currently a 12th grade student, Specialized block, Hanoi National University of Education.

During his primary school years in Yen Thanh Town, Tran Quoc Nam won high prizes in many district and provincial competitions. In addition to his talent for Math, Tran Quoc Nam also enjoys chess and English.

In grade 5, Nam won first prize in the English Olympic organized by the Nghe An Department of Education and Training in collaboration with the Van Xuan Language Institute. That same year, Nam also won second prize in the provincial chess competition.

Nam went to Bach Lieu Secondary School in Yen Thanh District. In 7th grade, Nam won first prize in the national online math competition. In 9th grade, he was the top student in Math and third prize in Chemistry at the provincial level.

Tran Quoc Nam won third prize in math in the national competition for excellent students in the 2014-2015 school year.

Studying at the Specialized High School, Hanoi National University of Education, Tran Quoc Nam showed his excellent ability in Math, Physics, Chemistry, and English. During 3 years of study, Nam continuously maintained impressive academic results. In grade 10, Tran Quoc Nam won the Gold Medal in Math in the competition of specialized high schools in the coastal and Northern Delta regions with an absolute score of 20/20.

Especially in grade 11, Nam's class won 3rd prize in math in the national competition for excellent students in the 2014-2015 school year.

Dickinson College has long been one of Nam's big dreams, the school that the 9X Vietnamese boy was attracted to because of the spirit of "work hard, play hard". If studying at this school, students will have many opportunities to participate in group debates with the professors here. Therefore, this school has always been his dream. And Nam was determined to study hard to achieve his dream.

To “conquer” Dickinson College, Tran Quoc Nam must meet the essay standards, have perfect grades in 3 years of high school; standardized test scores, academic performance, extracurricular activities… must all be good.

Upon receiving an invitation letter from Dickinson College, Tran Quoc Nam shared: “I will pursue a major in Computer Science to develop my passion for science and technology.”

The simplicity and honesty of a family with a father who is a teacher has permeated Tran Quoc Nam's personality. That is the place that gives him motivation and determination, the launching pad for him to reach his dreams.
