Young man beats to death his girlfriend's roommate and flees

Initial information, at around 6:00 p.m. on June 16, Ly Phuc Toan (32 years old, commonly known as "Toan the kid", residing in group 9, Nui Gio hamlet, Tan Loi commune, Hon Quan district, Binh Phuoc province) received a call for help from his girlfriend, Ms. VTTL (30 years old, from Long An province).

Ms. L. told Toan that the man sharing the same room, Mr. Do Van Day (37 years old, from An Giang province), beat her because of a conflict over money at the Hoang An motel (in Phu Son neighborhood, An Loc ward, Binh Long town).

Toan rode a motorbike carrying Phung Tan Luc (31 years old, commonly known as "chili", residing in group 5, An Binh quarter, An Loc ward, Binh Long town) to Ms. L's rented room and used a wooden stick to beat Mr. Day, causing the victim to be seriously injured and later died at Binh Long town Medical Center.

After committing the crime, Toan and Luc fled their residence. Through the persuasion of the police, on June 22, Luc turned himself in.

As for Toan, after 14 days of hiding in Thanh Hoa province, he turned himself in to Binh Phuoc province police and confessed to all his crimes.

The Investigation Police Agency of Binh Phuoc Province Police has prosecuted and detained Ly Phuc Toan and Phung Tan Luc to investigate the crime of murder.
