Workers need the following skills to help candidates "score points" most in the eyes of employers in 2017, according to many experts.

The International Labor Organization (ILO) said the global "army" of unemployed is expected to increase this year, due to slow economic growth, economic and political instability, and lack of investment.

According to the ILO's "World Employment and Social Outlook" report released in mid-January 2017, unemployment is increasing in major emerging economies, especially those that depend on commodity exports such as Russia, South Africa and Brazil. Due to the lack of job creation, the number of unemployed people globally in 2017 is forecast to increase by 3.4 million to 201 million people and the unemployment rate will increase from 5.7% in 2016 to 5.8%.

Meanwhile, experts seem to have a common opinion that having many degrees in hand does not necessarily guarantee a good job in the future. Currently, companies are competing for market share to increase revenue, actively creating advanced technologies, making them an important, essential part of society.

Business owners need technologists who can better articulate big strategies and then execute them, and also candidates with the sharp, technical skills to bring technological innovations to widespread adoption.

Below are the skills that will help candidates "score points" the most in the eyes of employers in 2017, according to CareerBuilder and Economic Modeling Specialists International...
