Improving the quality and effectiveness of foreign information in the new situation

The assessment report at the conference stated that the foreign information work in the province in 2021 continued to receive attention and close direction from Party committees, authorities, all levels, branches, members of the Steering Committee and localities, units, ensuring proactiveness and synchronization. In the context of the complicated developments of the Covid-19 pandemic, agencies, units and localities have had many innovations and creativity in terms of content, form and application of information technology in foreign propaganda.

Propaganda work is maintained effectively through reporters, oral propaganda, press conferences, specialized training conferences, publishing bilingual provincial foreign affairs and people's foreign affairs newsletters (Vietnamese and English), specialized foreign affairs information pages on various types of newspapers, social networks, electronic information pages, internal provincial announcements, specialized magazines... From there, providing information so that international friends can better understand the land, people, history, culture, and potential of Nghe An, actively contributing to the work of attracting investment, developing the economy, culture, and society of the province.

Besides the achieved results, foreign information work in the province still has some shortcomings: The direction and implementation of foreign information activities in some agencies, units and localities are sometimes not focused on. Propaganda work in foreign languages ​​is not much, not popular and not very effective.

At the conference, delegates discussed and clarified the achievements in the province's foreign information work in the past year, proposed solutions to overcome shortcomings and limitations, and effectively implement foreign information work in the coming time.

Concluding the conference, Comrade Nguyen Van Thong - Standing Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee requested relevant departments, branches, Party committees and authorities at all levels to further improve coordination and improve the quality of information and propaganda work on the province's policies on socio-economic development, culture and business investment environment to the domestic and foreign business community.

In the face of the complex security and political situation in the world, it is necessary to have the right attitude in approaching information and propaganda, always standing firmly on the Party and State's foreign policy and stance, which is to protect independence, autonomy, peace, friendship, cooperation and development, multilateralization, diversification, proactive and active international integration, for the national interest. At the same time, fight against fake, toxic information, distorting the Party's foreign policy and Vietnam's bilateral relations with other countries.
