Russia accuses the West of igniting 'the flames of war'
(Baonghean.vn) - On July 21, Russian President Vladimir Putin accused the West of igniting the "fire of war" by continuing to support Ukraine in its conflict with Russia. The Russian leader affirmed that the weapons the West provides to Ukraine "will burn out" on the battlefield.

Speaking at an online meeting with members of the Russian Security Council, President Putin clearly stated that Western countries were disappointed with the results of the counter-offensive campaign launched by Ukraine.
"Today, Western countries supporting the Kiev government clearly expressed disappointment with the results of the so-called counter-offensive operation, which the Ukrainian government loudly announced in the previous months," Mr. Putin stressed.
According to the Russian leader, so far, Ukraine's counteroffensive campaign has not achieved results, and the supply of weapons as well as the deployment of foreign mercenaries and advisers to Ukraine has not helped the country to penetrate the defenses of Russian forces.
President Putin also accused Poland of having ambitions for territory in the former Soviet Union, and declared that any provocation against Belarus, Russia's neighbor and close ally, would be seen as an act of aggression against Russia itself. President Putin affirmed that Moscow would respond "with all available means".
Meanwhile, according to a poll by the Public Opinion Organization (FOM), the majority of Russians (76%) believe that President Putin is doing a good job as leader and 74% of respondents trust him./.
