Russia names 5 rebel leaders killed in Idlib
The Russian Defense Ministry named five rebel leaders killed in Idlib along with 32 other militants, in a special operation.
According to the Russian Defense Ministry, these five notorious rebel leaders planned a terrorist attack on September 18 against a Russian military police unit.
The five notorious rebel leaders killed by Russian missiles were Abu Sulman al-Saudi (commander of the southern Idlib province), Abu al-Abbas Anadin (in charge of financial matters), Abu Hasan (adviser to military leader Abu Muhammad al-Djulani), Walid al-Mustafa (adviser to spiritual leader Abdallah al-Muheisni) and Abu Mudjagid (Sharia court judge).

On September 27, Russian Defense Ministry spokesman Igor Konashenkov said: "After the terrorist attack on September 18 against the Russian military police in Hama province, the entire multi-level intelligence system of the Russian Defense Ministry in Syria was used to search for and destroy the rebel leaders who hadplan the attack".
A precision missile strike was carried out against a meeting attended by field commanders of the terrorist group Hay'at Tahrir al-Sham (the new name of the Al-Qaeda-linked al-Nusra Front) south of Idlib city. The location of the meeting, held outside a settlement, was confirmed through multiple channels.
During this special operation, Russian missiles also destroyed an ammunition depot and six trucks with large-caliber weapons. The deaths of the five notorious terrorist leaders were confirmed through several independent channels.
Spokesman Igor Konashenkov said that a “search and destroy” operation to eliminate all those who took part in the attack on Russian troops in Syria was underway.
