Russia is furious with the US
Russia and its partners will respond to the US-led coalition's creation of the so-called "Border Security Force" in Syria.
According to Sputnik, the above warning was given by Chairman of the Russian State Duma Defense Committee Vladimir Shamanov at a press conference on January 15, when he was asked whether such actions by the US-led coalition would harm Russia's interests in Syria.

"Such actions by the US-led coalition represent a direct confrontation with Russia's interests, and we and our partners will certainly take the necessary measures to stabilize the situation in Syria," the official said specifically.
Previously, the Defense Post reported that a spokesman for the anti-IS coalition announced that these countries were training a force of 30,000 troops in the Syrian territory controlled by the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF). The purpose is to maintain security in the area along the Syrian border.
The US has led a coalition of more than 70 countries fighting IS in Iraq and Syria since 2014.
Türkiye criticized the new move by the coalition. Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan's representative Ibrahim Kalin described it as "wrong" and "unacceptable".
The Foreign Ministry in Ankara later issued a statement condemning the US plan, stressing that the coalition had not consulted Türkiye about the creation of the force.
