Russia talks about 'tired' relationship with the West
Russia is tired of the confrontation with the West, this spiral is not of Russian origin, but it can still return, said the leader of the United Russia party, Deputy Chairman of the Russian Security Council Dmitry Medvedev.
"Not only are we tired of confrontation. I will tell you more: We are all tired of confrontation. And who likes it? No one likes it. I don't like it. And certainly neither the president nor my colleagues. Objectively speaking, this spiral of confrontation was not created by us," Medvedev said in an interview with the Kommersant newspaper.

According to him, the West “in response to the vote for Crimea to reunify with the Russian Federation, could have acted much more tactfully and delicately: not to break relations”, but to declare its opinion on certain points that made them unhappy.
“But they destroyed everything, burned everything, I don’t want to say that only one side is always at fault, like ‘we are white and beautiful, and they are dirty and evil’. However, in this situation, we certainly did not initiate this kind of spiral of confrontation. But we should not consider it as an unchangeable destiny. It is possible to turn things around,” Medvedev added.
Western partners, he said, had "showed off their strength, especially after the collapse of the Warsaw Pact".
"But at least no one had in mind to cut off all communication lines. Meanwhile, what did our partners, for example in the European Union or the United States, do? They began to impose personal sanctions," the headUnited Russia Partycomment.
He also said that relations between Russia and the West were worse than during the Cold War. Mr Medvedev explained that this was because the (Western) partners were confident that "Russia could be underestimated".
