Russia successfully launched an intercontinental ballistic missile
The Russian Defense Ministry announced that the country successfully test-launched the RS-12M Topol intercontinental ballistic missile from the Kapustin Yar testing ground on September 26.

RTCiting an announcement from the Russian Ministry of Defense, the launch of the RS-12M Topol intercontinental ballistic missile was conducted on September 26 at the Kapustin Yar training ground in Russia's Astrakhan region.
According to the Russian Defense Ministry, the warhead of the RS-12M Topol missile hit the simulated target at the Sary-Shagan test site in Kazakhstan with the accuracy as initially expected.
The RS-12M Topol, also known as the SS-25 Sickle, is a single-warhead intercontinental ballistic missile (ICBM). It entered service in 1985 with a maximum range of 10,000 km. The RS-12M Topol can carry a nuclear warhead with a yield of up to 550 kilotons./.
