Russia is ready to cooperate to find a peaceful solution to the situation in Myanmar.
Russia is ready to cooperate with the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) on a peaceful solution to the situation in Myanmar, the Russian Foreign Ministry said.
"We note that during the informal meeting of ASEAN foreign ministers on March 2, the issue of the situation in Myanmar was discussed. We share the call made in the statement by the Chairman of the Association of Brunei Darussalam to all sides to avoid escalation of violence, to show maximum restraint and flexibility, and to seek a peaceful solution through constructive dialogue," the website of the Russian diplomatic agency wrote.

The Russian Foreign Ministry hopes that the position of Myanmar's neighbors in the region will help normalize the situation.
“We stand ready to cooperate with ASEAN in this direction both at international platforms and within the framework of ASEAN-centric mechanisms,” the statement said.
The military seized power in Myanmar on February 1, arresting government and ruling National League for Democracy (NLD) leaders. On the same day, the military announced its commitment to a multi-party democracy and promised to hold elections after the end of a year-long state of emergency. The military accused the Election Commission and the NLD of massively falsifying voter lists in the November 8, 2020, election, which the generals said exaggerated the ruling party's results, which received an absolute majority of seats in parliament.
