Russia announces indefinite postponement of peace talks on Syria
On November 1, Russian Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu announced that the failure of Western countries to contain the violence of Islamic rebels in Syria has delayed the resumption of peace negotiations in Syria.
In a statement broadcast on Russian television, Mr. Shoigu said that despite Russia's temporary suspension of air strikes on the city of Aleppo, rebels, backed by Western countries, continued to attack civilians in the city. This is the reason why the prospect of starting the negotiation process and restoring peaceful life in Syria has been indefinitely delayed.

The civil war in Syria has lasted nearly six years and there is no sign that the conflict in this Middle Eastern country will end anytime soon.
The latest ceasefire in Syria brokered by Russia and the United States in early September quickly collapsed. Relations between the two powers have become increasingly tense after Moscow and the Syrian government army stepped up their air campaign in the city of Aleppo, eliminating opposition and terrorist elements.
On October 29, Russia announced its readiness to coordinate actions with partners, including the US, in all aspects to soon resolve the crisis in Syria. However, Russia stressed that this cooperation can only be carried out on the basis of equality and that all parties comply with the principles and demonstrate a sense of responsibility for their commitments./.
