Russia claims to have destroyed the most powerful weapon the US supplied to Ukraine
Russia has just announced that Ukraine has lost "powerful weapons systems" provided by the US in the war in the East.
The Russian Defense Ministry said on July 6 that its forces destroyed two US-made missile systems on the Donbass battlefield.
“In the Malotaranovka settlement of the Donetsk People’s Republic, high-precision air-launched missiles destroyed two US-made HIMARS high-mobility artillery rocket systems and two ammunition depots for them,” the Russian military statement said.

Meanwhile, Ukraine accused Russia of spreading false information. “Russian propagandists are actively spreading false information about the destruction of the HIMARS system. We emphasize that this message does not correspond to reality and is fake news,” the Ukrainian Joint Special Forces said. “The HIMARS systems provided by our American partners have dealt a heavy blow to the enemy’s strategic targets, resulting in serious losses of equipment and personnel.”
In late June, the Lugansk People’s Republic (LPR) said that Ukrainian forces had used the M142 HIMARS system in Donbass. This was the first time the system had been deployed on the battlefield. The United States has provided Ukraine with eight high-mobility artillery rocket systems (HIMARS) and various types of ammunition since Russia began its military campaign in Ukraine.
Russia has repeatedly warned the United States and its allies not to supply weapons to Ukraine, asserting that this will only prolong the conflict and create many other problems. On July 5, Russian Defense Minister Sergey Shoigu said that some foreign weapons intended for Ukraine have been sent to the Middle East or sold on the black market.
