Hearing that his estranged wife was preparing to go out with her boyfriend, Cuong, wearing a mask, rushed forward and brandished a knife to kill the two.

On June 4, Major Nguyen Huu Cuong (Deputy Chief of Vinh City Police) said dozens of detectives are participating in the hunt for Tran Van Cuong (29 years old) - the suspect who slashed one person to death and seriously injured another.

"This is a very dangerous person, with 5 previous convictions for the crimes of Sexual intercourse with children, Disturbing public order, Resisting a person on duty, and Destruction of property," said the investigator.

According to authorities, Cuong and Ms. Hoa (26 years old) had been married for a short time when they had a conflict. Recently, the young couple lived apart. On the afternoon of June 2, when he received news that his wife was preparing to go out with Mr. Vo Dinh Toan (28 years old), Cuong became jealous. He contacted Tran Van Tri (28 years old, residing in Hung Thinh commune, Hung Nguyen district) to invite him to go with her, then put on a mask, put on a sun-protective shirt and rode a motorbike to pick her up. Carrying a knife more than half a meter long, Cuong rode Tri's motorbike to the area of alley 21, Dang Van Thuy street, Cua Nam ward and discovered Ms. Hoa and Mr. Toan waiting for a taxi.

Jumping off the motorbike, Cuong rushed forward and slashed Toan in the head with a knife, then continued to chase his wife. After committing the crime, Cuong and Tri fled the scene on their motorbike. Toan was taken to the emergency room but died. Hoa is currently receiving emergency treatment at the hospital.

Following the suspect's trail, a day later, the police caught Tri hiding in Hung Nguyen district.
