Nghe An education sector sets up 3 inspection teams to prevent accidents, injuries and drowning
(Baonghean.vn) - Although it is only the beginning of summer, in recent days, many tragic drowning accidents have occurred in Nghe An province. Therefore, the prevention of injuries and drowning accidents must be given special attention and implemented regularly.
The Department of Education and Training has just issued a plan to inspect the implementation of accident and injury prevention, drowning prevention and school violence prevention in 9 districts: Nghi Loc, Quynh Luu, Hoang Mai; Nghia Dan, Quy Hop, Quy Chau, Thanh Chuong, Anh Son and Ky Son. The inspection is expected to last for 10 days, starting from June 1, 2020.
Through that, the aim is to evaluate the leadership and direction of the Department of Education and Training, schools in organizing and implementing the work of preventing accidents, injuries, drowning, and school violence against children and students; the results, limitations, and shortcomings of units and schools, and solutions for prevention in the locality in the coming time.

In addition, to assess and grasp the coordination between the school and local authorities, mass organizations, and associations in: preventing school violence inside and outside of schools; developing solutions and implementing prevention and control of accidents, injuries, and drowning for students in the area during the hot season, summer, and stormy and flood seasons.
At the same time, grasp good models and creative ways of preventing accidents, injuries, drowning and school violence in schools and educational institutions to propagate and replicate throughout the province.
Previously, although it was just the beginning of summer, for about a month now, there have been many tragic drowning incidents in the province in districts such as Quynh Luu, Dien Chau, Thanh Chuong...
To limit this situation, the Department of Education and Training has issued many documents to promote education, prevent accidents, injuries, drowning, and ensure safety for students in schools.

Accordingly, school principals, teachers in charge of Youth Union and Pioneer activities in schools, and homeroom teachers are required to set aside a certain amount of time during flag-saluting periods, class meetings, or after-school activities to thoroughly understand and remind about the content of preventing accidents, injuries, and drowning.
At the same time, instruct teachers to continue to maintain 3-5 minutes in the last classes, before students leave school to remind and advise students on the way from home to school, from school back home. During the time off from school, always comply with the principles of disease prevention, accident prevention, injury prevention, drowning, traffic accidents, social evils, drugs, etc.
In case of failure to properly implement the regulations of the Government, Ministry of Education and Training, Provincial People's Committee and Department of Education and Training, leading to insecurity and safety for students, the leaders of the units must take full responsibility.
In addition, strict sanctions will be imposed on units and individuals who do not seriously implement the regulations, leading to students lacking knowledge and skills, leading to death. Depending on the severity, they may not be considered for emulation or their emulation rank may be downgraded during the school year.
