On the afternoon of June 25, the Department of Education and Training held a conference on typical advanced models in the education and training sector for the period 2015 - 2020.

Attending the conference were members of the Provincial Party Standing Committee: Cao Thi Hien - Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Council; Nguyen Thi Thu Huong - Head of the Provincial Party Committee's Propaganda Department. Bright spot in education quality

Implementing President Ho Chi Minh's teaching: "No matter how difficult it is, we must continue to compete to teach well and study well", in recent years, the entire Education and Training sector of Nghe An has actively and effectively deployed and promoted the campaign "Studying and following Ho Chi Minh's ideology, morality and style" associated with the campaign "Each teacher is an example of morality, self-study and creativity".

In particular, the emulation movement "Building friendly schools, active students" has been well directed and organized, and has become a regular activity in schools.

The campaigns and emulation movements have created strong changes in ideology and action among managers, teachers, staff and students in educational institutions.

With the efforts of the whole sector, over the past 5 years, the quality of education and training in Nghe An province has achieved positive results. The quality of mass education in general education has been ensured to be stable and solid, the quality of key subjects continues to be among the top in the country.

In the 5-year period (2015-2020), Nghe An has an average high school graduation rate of 95% or more and is one of the leading localities in the learning movement. In addition, 15 students won medals at international and regional Olympic competitions (4 Gold Medals, 3 Silver Medals, 2 International Bronze Medals, 1 Asian prize); 515 students won prizes at the National Excellent Student Selection Competition, including 35 First Prizes, 182 Second Prizes, 182 Third Prizes and 116 Encouragement Prizes.

In particular, in 2019, for the first time, Nghe An had a student who won the Road to Olympia Contest. Also in the past 5 years, Nghe An province has honored 282 students who achieved high scores in university and college entrance exams and the national high school exam. Career guidance and vocational training have had positive changes, becoming more and more effective and practical.

Emulation movements must be linked to reality, right people, right job

Speaking at the commendation conference, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Bui Dinh Long acknowledged the efforts of the entire education sector over the past 5 years.

At the same time, it affirmed that these achievements have contributed to the results in socio-economic development, strengthening national defense and security, and building the political system in the area.

However, in addition to the achievements, he also frankly pointed out the difficulties and problems such as the big differences between education levels, schools, regions and areas in some emulation movements. The discovery, training and replication of typical advanced examples are still uneven...

To effectively carry out emulation movements in the coming period, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Bui Dinh Long also requested the industry to develop plans, contents, targets, and emulation measures in line with the practical spirit; strengthen inspection, evaluation, preliminary and final review work and strongly innovate commendation and reward, ensuring timeliness, objectivity, fairness, and right people, right job.

In addition, it is necessary to continue to fundamentally and comprehensively innovate education and training, including preparing conditions to implement the textbook replacement program, improve the quality and expand the scale of teaching English programs, and train and develop a team of teachers with adequate qualities, capacity, and professional expertise.

In particular, it is necessary to promote the leadership role of heads of agencies and units in organizing and implementing emulation movements. At the same time, continue to effectively implement emulation movements "Good teaching - Good learning", "Innovation and creativity in teaching and learning", "Building friendly schools for active students"... with specific actions, contributing to creating changes from awareness to action of the team of cadres, teachers, staff and students.

Recognizing the achievements of the entire education sector, at this Conference, the Ministry of Education and Training also awarded Certificates of Merit to 16 collectives and 34 individuals with outstanding achievements in the patriotic emulation movement in the period 2015 - 2020. The Department of Education and Training commended 9 collectives and 94 typical advanced individuals in the education and training sector.

The conference also elected delegates to attend the Patriotic Emulation Congress of Nghe An province (12 delegates) and the Patriotic Emulation Congress of the education sector (3 delegates) organized by the Ministry of Education and Training.
