Nghe An Transport Sector deploys tasks for 2023
(Baonghean.vn) - On the afternoon of December 2, Nghe An Department of Transport held a conference to summarize the transport sector in 2022 and deploy tasks for 2023.

Many outstanding results
Despite many difficulties and challenges, in 2022, Nghe An Transport Department directed to overcome all difficulties, basically completing the assigned tasks. Regarding the development of transport infrastructure, the department has made efforts to advise the province, seek the help of the Government, ministries, and central branches, mobilize and attract capital, and direct drastically, coordinate with all levels and branches to deploy investment in the construction of a number of large, key projects, which are important to the socio-economic development of the province.

The total number of projects allocated capital in 2022 is 16, of which: 10 projects have been completed, 6 projects are being implemented. The capital allocated in 2022 is nearly 3,000 billion VND (an increase of 149% compared to the same period in 2021). The value of output in 2022 is estimated at 1,700 billion VND (an increase of 123% compared to the same period in 2021). The estimated disbursement in 2022 is 2,997,988 billion VND (an increase of 305% compared to the same period in 2021), reaching 100% of the allocated capital plan.
Planning, plans, mechanisms and policies are implemented promptly and with quality. Traffic infrastructure management is strengthened with drastic and timely direction with many synchronous solutions, aiming to improve the efficiency of exploiting the traffic infrastructure system. The total budget for management and maintenance of routes managed by the Department in 2022 is VND 538,042 billion (an increase of 17.73% compared to 2021).

The Department has focused on directing the completion of 50 periodic repair projects with a total length of 159.91 km of road surface, removing 7 spillways, and replacing 1 weak bridge. Coordinated with the Department of Finance, advised the Provincial People's Committee to promptly allocate central funding to carry out local road maintenance and repair work.
The work of ensuring transportation activities is carried out promptly and smoothly, without prolonged congestion, ensuring 24/7 circulation of goods to serve people's lives and production and business activities.
Traffic order and safety work continues to improve, traffic accidents continue to decrease in 3 criteria. In 2022, 13 black spots and 22 potential traffic accident spots on roads were handled; 17 traffic light clusters were added, repaired and replaced. Traffic safety corridor management work is always focused on and directed regularly and continuously.

The Department continues to focus on directing the enhancement of the quality of training, testing and issuance of driving licenses, resolving issues quickly and conveniently for the people.
Administrative reform continues to have many positive changes. Up to now, the Department has implemented 91 procedures at level 4, 24 procedures at level 3 and 2 procedures at level 2, being one of the departments with a high rate of level 4 administrative procedures.
Transport infrastructure one step ahead

Deploying the tasks for 2023, Mr. Le Hong Vinh, Standing Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee, emphasized: Maintaining the development of transport infrastructure is very important, transport infrastructure is one step ahead to promote socio-economic development and attract local investment.
Accordingly, the Transport sector needs to focus on implementing resolutely and achieving good results the plans, schemes, mechanisms and policies approved by the Provincial People's Committee. Timely advise on investment policies; mobilize resources for investment in developing transport infrastructure; participate in giving opinions on plans, projects, mechanisms and policies under the management of the sector.

At the same time, focus on managing the quality, traffic infrastructure system, and progress of traffic works invested in and built in the province; strengthen maintenance and repair work, do a good job of preventing and fighting storms and floods, ensure smooth and convenient traffic, manage traffic corridors well, and create changes in management, maintenance and repair work in districts.
Attracting capital for periodic repairs, emergency repairs, central and local budgets to upgrade and repair national highways, provincial roads, district and commune roads, etc. Continuing to effectively direct the implementation of the work of clearing road and railway traffic safety corridors in the province.

The Standing Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee also requested the departments, branches of districts, cities and towns to coordinate with the Department of Transport in arranging capital sources, appraising traffic works, site clearance to soon hand over the site for implementing works and projects; ensuring traffic order and safety, road maintenance, marking road boundaries, clearing traffic safety corridors, etc.
