Transport sector: Investing 3,450 billion VND to build projects

(Baonghean.vn) - On the afternoon of January 11, the Department of Transport summarized the work of 2015 and deployed the tasks and plans for 2016. In 2015, despite many difficulties, the Department has made efforts to overcome difficulties, attract many capital sources, and implement investment in the construction of many large traffic works. The output of investment in the construction of traffic works in the province in 2015 reached 3,450 billion VND.

Speaking at the Conference, Deputy Minister of Transport Le Dinh Tho acknowledged and highly appreciated the efforts of the industry and localities in developing rural transport infrastructure in the area.

The appraisal and quality management work continues to be strengthened by the industry, regularly inspecting projects invested by the Department, in order to promote efficiency when put into operation such as: Tay Nghe An Road Phase 2, Chau Thon Tan Xuan Phase 2; Road connecting National Highway 1 - Thai Hoa; Road N5 - Nam Cam - Do Luong - Tan Ky, etc. Continuing to manage the quality of projects invested by the People's Committees at the district level and other industries.

Comrade Huynh Thanh Dien spoke, acknowledging the efforts of the entire industry in investing in building traffic infrastructure in the area.

In 2015, the Department managed and maintained 26 roads with a total length of 1,088 km; 6 waterways with a total length of 249.1 km. The total budget for managing and maintaining the roads directly managed by the Department in 2015 reached 139.8 billion VND, an increase of 21.6% compared to 2014.

State management of transportation has had positive changes in both quality and quantity in management, operation, service and achieved outstanding results compared to before. The number of passengers passing through Vinh airport reached 1.378 million passengers, revenue reached 68.058 billion VND, compared to the same period in 2014 increased by 23.8%. Implemented over 61 international flights with 3,271 international passengers.

In 2015, the project to upgrade the channel for 10,000 DWT ships fully loaded into Cua Lo port was completed and put into use, and the project to build berths No. 5 and No. 6 of Cua Lo port was started. The volume of goods passing through the port reached 2.9 million tons, revenue reached 167 billion VND, up 13.6%.

Closely coordinate with the police force, continue to strengthen the direction of handling the activities of overloaded and oversized vehicles. The industry also conducted 97 car tests, 532 motorcycle tests; issued and renewed nearly 170,000 driving licenses of all classes, an increase of 38.6% compared to the same period in 2014, of which 81,372 new driving licenses of all classes were issued, 88,005 driving licenses of all classes were issued and renewed and restored.

Speaking at the conference, comrades Le Dinh Tho - Deputy Minister of Transport, Huynh Thanh Dien, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee acknowledged and highly appreciated the efforts of the sector in the past time, and emphasized: Transport infrastructure is identified as one of the 5 breakthroughs along with 3 key economic regions to create a breakthrough, rapid and sustainable development of the province. To achieve the set goals, in the coming time, it is necessary to review and develop plans, mechanisms and policies on transport development in accordance with the Resolutions of Party Congresses at all levels and the Program and plan to implement Resolution 26/NQ-TW of the Politburo in the new situation. Actively call for attracting and integrating capital sources to speed up the progress of unfinished projects and deploy a number of new projects.

Along with that, focus on quality management, from investment preparation, investment implementation and post-investment, strictly direct the implementation of state regulations on construction management, management and repair of traffic infrastructure. Strengthen inspection and re-inspection of all projects, especially key projects with high technical requirements, complexity, large total investment, traffic works invested by districts and sectors, creating strong changes in traffic works quality management...
