Nghe An Province Department of Culture and Sports deploys tasks for 2025
On the afternoon of December 20, the Department of Culture and Sports held a conference to summarize the work in 2024 and deploy tasks for 2025. Attending and directing the conference was comrade Bui Dinh Long - Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee.

Outstanding results
In 2024, the Nghe An Department of Culture and Sports has strived to compete, effectively implemented the work plan, completed the tasks and development goals of the industry, contributing to improving the spiritual life and health of people in the whole province.
Notably, in the cultural field, the industry has advised on the implementation of projects to restore and embellish relics such as Hoanh Son communal house, Dong Vien communal house, Phan Boi Chau relic; upgrade and adjust the exhibition at the Soviet Nghe Tinh Museum, the Museum of Culture of Western Nghe An ethnic groups; preserve and promote traditional cultural values in Hoa Tien village; restore and embellish the house of Mr. Vi Van Khang; implement phase 2 of digital transformation at Nghe An Museum; repair Xop Lot tower (Ky Son district)...

In addition, the industry successfully organized many cultural, artistic and sports activities to celebrate political events and major holidays such as: Party celebration program, Spring Giap Thin 2024 celebration; 94th anniversary of the founding of the Communist Party of Vietnam; Vietnamese Ethnic Culture Day; Mobile Propaganda Contest to celebrate the 65th anniversary of the opening of the Ho Chi Minh Trail - Truong Son Troops' Traditional Day; Sen Village Festival 2024; live television program "Sen Village Nurturing Great Ambitions" to celebrate the 134th anniversary of President Ho Chi Minh's birthday (May 19, 1890 - May 19, 2024); Nghe Tinh Soviet Day (September 12); program "Vi, Giam - Shining Soul of the Countryside" to celebrate the 10th anniversary of Nghe Tinh Vi, Giam folk songs being recognized by UNESCO as a representative intangible cultural heritage of humanity; Exhibition "Colors of heritage, nature and traditional Vietnamese handicrafts"...
In addition, the sector has strengthened the management and direction of localities in organizing traditional festivals; well organized mass cultural and artistic activities, exhibitions, and propaganda activities from the province to the grassroots, serving the political tasks of the country and the province; built programs and participated in competitions, performances, and festivals organized by the Central Government, the province, and sectors.
In the field of sports, the industry has coordinated with the Department of Physical Training and Sports and national sports federations to successfully organize 7 tournaments and participate in 7 mass sports tournaments organized by the Central Government; successfully organized 8 mass sports tournaments at the provincial level. For high-performance sports, Nghe An participated in 83 tournaments, winning 463 medals (128 Gold Medals, 113 Silver Medals, 222 Bronze Medals).
Exploiting the economic potential of cultural industries
Speaking at the conference, Mr. Bui Dinh Long - Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee acknowledged the achievements of the Department of Culture and Sports in 2024, and at the same time pointed out the shortcomings and limitations that need to be noted such as: Investment in culture and sports is still scattered and ineffective; the system of facilities and equipment serving cultural and sports activities from the province to the grassroots level is still lacking and weak, not meeting the development; culture has not become an endogenous resource to promote the socio-economic development of the province; cultural and sports institutions at the grassroots level have not yet fully promoted their effectiveness, causing waste while the needs of the people are very high.

In addition, some tasks assigned by the province but the sector's implementation are still behind schedule and have not been completed, such as: Project on developing Ho Chi Minh cultural space for the period 2024-2030; Project on managing, preserving and promoting the value of the special national relic Phan Boi Chau Memorial Site for the period 2025-2030, with a vision to 2035; adjusting and supplementing the construction planning of Ho Chi Minh Square and the architectural planning scheme of the project "Tinh Hoa Xu Nghe Digital Technology Experience Space at Ho Chi Minh Square"; Folk Song Theater project at 77 Nguyen Du Street; project on restoring and embellishing Phan Boi Chau relic.
In addition, the mobilization of social resources for investment in the cultural and sports fields is still limited; the cultural industry in Nghe An is almost undeveloped.

Comrade Bui Dinh Long affirmed: The year 2025 is of special importance, as it is the year of the Party Congresses at all levels for the 2025-2030 term, leading up to the 14th National Party Congress. To continue promoting the achieved results, overcoming shortcomings and limitations, the Department of Culture and Sports needs to advise on solutions to effectively implement the Government's Cultural Development Strategy to 2030 in the province; well and effectively organize cultural, physical training and sports activities to celebrate major holidays of the province and the country.

In addition, the industry needs to focus on exploiting the economic potential of cultural industries associated with promoting national cultural identity; promoting the application of science and technology; implementing digital transformation in the industry's fields; continuing to build a streamlined, effective and efficient organizational apparatus; rectifying discipline and order in performing tasks of cadres, civil servants and public employees...

On this occasion, the Department of Culture and Sports of Nghe An province was awarded the Emulation Flag of the Government; 2 individuals of the industry received Certificates of Merit from the Prime Minister; 3 individuals received the title "Emulation Fighter of Nghe An province"; 4 collectives received the title "Excellent Labor Collective"; 13 individuals received Certificates of Merit from the Provincial People's Committee.
Provincial leaders and the Department of Culture and Sports also presented flowers to congratulate the artists of Nghe An province who were awarded the title of People's Artist and Meritorious Artist by the President, including: People's Artist Nguyen An Ninh - former Head of the Vi and Giam Folk Song Troupe of Nghe An Province's Traditional Arts Center; Meritorious Artist Nguyen Minh Tam, Meritorious Artist Que Thi Thuong; Meritorious Artist Nguyen Thi Hue and Meritorious Artist Ho Van Thong (all are actors of Nghe An Province's Traditional Arts Center).
