The health sector sets out 6 tasks and solutions to implement 10 targets assigned by the National Assembly and the Government in 2025.
The Ministry of Health has reviewed and evaluated the results of health work in 2024; proposed key solutions and tasks to complete the goals, targets and tasks of 2025.

On the morning of December 24, the Ministry of Health held a conference to deploy health work in 2025. Deputy Prime Minister Le Thanh Long attended and delivered a speech at the conference. Also attending were representatives of leaders of agencies of the Party, State, National Assembly, Government, ministries, central branches; international organizations in Vietnam; general associations of medicine, pharmacy, health economics, health education; 63 provincial and municipal connection points.

Also attending were representatives of the provincial National Assembly delegation, departments, branches; functional departments, units under the Department of Health, directors of provincial hospitals.

At the conference, the Ministry of Health reviewed and evaluated the results of health work in 2024, focusing on analyzing the results achieved, limitations and causes; proposing solutions and key tasks to complete the goals, targets and tasks of 2025.
Accordingly, in 2024, the Ministry of Health has completed and exceeded 2 targets and achieved 1 target assigned by the National Assembly in Resolution 103/2023 of the National Assembly; completed and exceeded 8 targets assigned in Resolution 01/2024 of the Government; only the sex ratio target did not meet the plan.
The Ministry of Health has also focused on promoting the development and improvement of institutions and policies, improving state management capacity in the health sector; continuing to consolidate and reorganize the apparatus towards streamlining, effectiveness and efficiency; improving the capacity of preventive medicine, grassroots health care and the quality of medical examination and treatment services; strengthening the management, licensing and supply of drugs, vaccines, medical supplies and equipment.

Speaking at the conference, Deputy Prime Minister Le Thanh Long acknowledged and highly appreciated the results and achievements of the health sector in 2024; at the same time, he pointed out the shortcomings and limitations: Some activities in building and perfecting institutions are somewhat slow. In some areas, people's access to health services is still difficult. Some problems that have persisted over the years have not been thoroughly resolved. Administrative reform, application of information technology, and digital transformation still have many shortcomings.
Deputy Prime Minister proposed: In 2025, the industrymedicalIt is necessary to focus on building laws, institutions, and policy planning; promptly issue documents to organize the implementation of approved laws and regulations; effectively reorganize the apparatus. Be proactive in advising and proposing effective implementation of health finance work; proactively deploy professional orientations to effectively prevent and combat epidemics; strive to effectively implement digital transformation in the health sector; ensure a good replacement birth rate; and thoroughly handle outstanding issues that cause waste.

Minister of Health Dao Hong Lan accepted the instructions of Deputy Prime Minister Le Thanh Long and stated: Based on the 10 targets assigned by the National Assembly and the Government in 2025, the health sector has proposed 6 tasks and solutions for implementation.
Branchmedicalwill proactively implement the procurement of equipment, supplies, and chemicals for epidemic prevention, medical examination and treatment; effectively implement new laws in the health sector, the Law on Bidding, the Law on Prices; promote the application of information technology, digital transformation to reform administrative procedures, as well as health management, remote medical examination and treatment.
The Minister of Health also proposed to the Government, ministries, branches and localities to strengthen leadership, direction and coordination to overcome difficulties; issue preferential policies and regimes to attract human resources; allocate sufficient resources from local budgets to comprehensively and synchronously carry out the work of caring for, protecting and improving people's health./.
