December 28, 1895:The death of Phan Dinh Phung, leader of the Huong Khe Uprising. In 1885, responding to King Ham Nghi's Can Vuong Proclamation, he gathered an army to fight against the invading French colonialists, based in the mountainous region of Huong Son, Huong Khe, Ha Tinh province. The Huong Khe Uprising led by Phan Dinh Phung lasted nearly 10 years, representing the Van Than movement against the French in the North and Central regions.

December 28, 1975:The death date of Luong Dinh Cua. He worked at the Institute of Agricultural and Forestry Research, the University of Agriculture, the Institute of Food and Food Plants. As a geneticist, Luong Dinh Cua successfully bred many new varieties of rice with high yield, short duration, flood resistance and fruit trees.
