January 3, 1766:The birth of the great poet Nguyen Du. He died on September 16, 1820. Nguyen Du, whose pen name was To Nhu, and whose pen name was Thanh Hien, was from Tien Dien village, Nghi Xuan district, Ha Tinh province. In 2013, Nguyen Du was honored as a World Cultural Celebrity by the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO).
