October 14, 1930:The first conference of the Central Executive Committee of the Communist Party of Vietnam held in Hong Kong (China) passed a resolution on the establishment of the Indochina General Farmers' Association (the first name of today's Vietnam Farmers' Association).

October 14, 1967:"Hoang Truong old militia platoon" (Hoang Hoa district, Thanh Hoa province), with 18 members (the youngest is 49 and the oldest is 69 years old), equipped with several infantry guns and 3 12.7mm machine guns, achieved the feat of shooting down an American F-4H aircraft with only 92 bullets.
