October 13, 1939:It is the death anniversary of writer Vu Trong Phung. He is one of the great writers of Vietnamese literature in the 20th century, with two typical novels, Storm and Red Fate.

October 13, 1949:Musician Phu Quang's birthday. Musician Phu Quang's full name is Nguyen Phu Quang. He left the Vietnamese music treasure trove of more than 600 songs, most of which are about Hanoi and autumn. The songs Em oi Ha Noi pho, Dau phai do mua thu, Mo ve noi xa lat, Noi nho mua dong... are considered a part of Hanoi.

October 13, 1968:Mother Nguyen Thi Suot sacrificed her life while rowing a boat to ferry soldiers across the river. During the years when the American invaders escalated the war and increased their bombardment of the North, Quang Binh was a fierce land of fire. At the 4th National Congress of Heroes and Emulation Soldiers (1966) held in the North, Mother Suot was invited to attend. On January 1, 1967, she was awarded the title "Hero of the Transport Industry in the Resistance Against America to Save the Country".

October 13, 1941:Born: American singer and songwriter Paul Frederic Simon. Paul Simon came to public attention in 1965 as a member of the group Simon & Garfunkel, along with his friend Art Garfunkel. The song “Still crazy after all these years” released in 1975 is considered the most successful work of his career.
