October 7, 1877:The French started construction of Notre Dame Cathedral in Saigon (now Ho Chi Minh City) and inaugurated it on Easter 1880. Notre Dame Cathedral was designed by architect Pavrard based on the model of Notre Dame Cathedral in Paris (France).
