Nghe An: 12 people injured or killed in traffic accidents during 8 days of Tet holiday
(Baonghean.vn) - Compared to the same period in 2018, the number of traffic accidents decreased by 1 case, 3 deaths and 4 injuries.
According to the Road and Railway Traffic Police Department of Nghe An Province, from December 28, 2018 to the 5th day of the Lunar New Year, 8 traffic accidents occurred in the province, killing 5 people and injuring 7 others. The accidents also damaged 2 cars and 12 motorbikes.

Of which, there were 7 road traffic accidents, killing 4 people and injuring 7 people. There was 1 railway accident, killing 1 person. Compared to the same period in 2018, the number of traffic accidents decreased by 1 case, 3 deaths and 4 injuries.
The Traffic Police organized 544 patrols with 1,956 officers and soldiers participating, recording 449 cases. Of these, there were 354 motorbikes, 77 cars, 57 passenger cars, and 10 trucks.
Authorities have detained 3 passenger cars and 6 motorbikes, fined 275 cases, and transferred 172 million VND to the treasury.

According to Nghe An Police, traffic during the 8 days of Tet was basically smooth, there was no prolonged congestion, and vehicles were able to move smoothly.
To ensure traffic safety for people to travel smoothly during Tet, Vinh City Police has developed a plan and assigned forces to ensure traffic safety and urban order in 3 phases with 70 teams. Vinh City Police has mobilized nearly 400 officers and soldiers including Traffic Police, Public Order Police, Ward Police, and Civil Defense to regulate and direct traffic.
