Nghe An: 6 districts free from African swine fever

According to data from the Department of Animal Husbandry and Veterinary Medicine, in the first 20 days of July, in Nghe An, African swine fever outbreaks occurred in 10 new outbreaks and 418 additional outbreak points in the districts of Que Phong, Do Luong, Yen Thanh, Dien Chau, Quynh Luu...

The total number of pigs destroyed in the past 20 days is 1,900, with a total weight of 100 tons.

There are 6 districts that have decided to declare the end of the epidemic: Thanh Chuong, Anh Son, Nam Dan, Quy Hop, Quy Chau and Tan Ky. There are currently 3 districts that have not had an epidemic: Nghia Dan, Thai Hoa town and Cua Lo.

According to the Department of Animal Husbandry and Veterinary Medicine, African swine fever is currently complicated in some communes of Yen Thanh and Quynh Luu districts. Therefore, localities have declared the end of the epidemic, must not be subjective, must regularly monitor the disease developments in the pig herd to promptly handle it, because the disease has a high risk of recurrence.

Since March 2019, African swine fever has occurred in 2,051 households, 424 hamlets, 154 communes, 18 districts, towns and cities in the province. The total number of pigs culled is 8,320, with a total weight of 382,028.2 kg.

Of which, 64 communes have been declared free of the epidemic, but recently 8 communes have had a resurgence of the epidemic.
