Nghe An: Caught 2 trucks carrying nearly 3 tons of smuggled vegetables from China

(Baonghean.vn) - Nghe An market management force continued to discover 2 trucks carrying nearly 3 tons of vegetables of Chinese origin without valid documents into Vinh city for consumption.

At 4:30 a.m. this morning (November 15), Market Management Team No. 3 - Nghe An Market Management Department discovered a truck with license plate 17C-05245 driven by Mr. Dinh Van Hieu, residing in Quynh Trang commune, Quynh Phu district, Thai Binh, stopping to unload smuggled goods at the wholesale market, Vinh city.

The truck with the quantity of Chinese cabbage, cabbage, and carrots without valid documents was seized.

Upon inspection, Market Management Team No. 3 discovered that the truck was carrying 860 kg of cabbage, 780 kg of Chinese cabbage, and 1 ton of carrots without valid documents, originating from China. The value of the shipment was nearly 30 million VND.

After checking, the Market Management Agency confiscated all the above violating goods and imposed an administrative fine of 15 million VND on the driver.

The violating goods are destroyed according to regulations.

Previously, at 0:30 on November 15, also at Vinh City wholesale market, Market Management Team No. 3 discovered a truck with license plate 34K-8725, driven by Mr. Nguyen Dinh Pho residing in Thach Khoi, Hai Duong, transporting 100 kg of carrots to Vinh for sale. This was a smuggled shipment originating from China, worth 1.2 million VND. Market Management Team No. 3 administratively fined the driver 1 million VND.

All infringing goods will be destroyed by authorities according to the provisions of law.
