Nghe An: Arrested a subject specializing in buying crystal meth from the mountains to sell in coastal areas

(Baonghean.vn) - The Drug Crime Prevention Task Force No. 2 - Coast Guard (located in Cua Lo Town) has just handed over Nguyen Thi Thanh, residing in Dien Truong Commune, Dien Chau District, and crystal meth to the Nghe An Police Investigation Agency to continue to expand and investigate the illegal drug trafficking.

In early May 2016, while performing patrol and control duties in the coastal areas of Dien Chau and Quynh Luu districts, the Task Force of the Drug Crime Prevention Task Force No. 2 (Coast Guard) discovered a ring specializing in illegally buying, selling, and storing drugs from Tuong Duong district to Dien Chau and Quynh Luu districts for resale to addicts.

During the investigation, the detectives found that Nguyen Thi Thanh (born in 1981), registered residence in Hamlet 15, Dien Truong Commune, Dien Chau, had many suspicious signs. Thanh had a previous conviction for illegal drug trafficking and was sentenced to 27 months in prison by the People's Court of Dien Chau District and had her sentence suspended to raise her young child.

During the surveillance process, it was found that Thanh's "goods" were usually only sold to acquaintances. Drug deliveries were usually made at noon or in the late afternoon when there were few passersby, or Thanh proactively contacted addicts to come to his house to deliver the "goods" through the window.

To combat and eradicate this drug trafficking, storage, and trafficking ring, the task force quickly reported to the Commander to establish Project TP195, headed by Lieutenant Colonel Phan Quang Huy - Head of the Drug Crime Prevention Task Force No. 2. Accordingly, the task force quickly approached the subject's house as well as Thanh's activities every time he left the house.

After a period of surveillance, on May 23, 2016, the detectives discovered that Thanh had just taken the "goods" from Tuong Duong district to Dien Chau district. Immediately, the task force divided into two reconnaissance teams, one team set up an ambush at the entrance to Thanh's house in Dien Truong commune, Dien Chau, the other team secretly set up an ambush in the area next to this subject's house.

After getting the “goods” at the Dien Truong commune gate, Thanh quickly went straight home. Discovering Thanh sitting there dividing the drugs into small pieces to sell to addicts, realizing the opportunity had come, the Task Force decided to crack the case.

Accordingly, the detectives raided the house and caught Thanh red-handed dividing the drugs into many small packages. Seeing the stranger suddenly appear, Thanh tried to destroy the evidence and escape, while trying to fight back against the force. However, the detectives successfully controlled and arrested this subject.

At the scene, the police seized 100.22 grams of crystal meth, 1 cell phone, and 1 electronic scale in the suspect's bedroom.

During the investigation, Thanh confessed to buying the above amount of drugs from a stranger in Tuong Duong district for 50 million VND with the intention of bringing them back to divide into small amounts and sell them to drug addicts in the area to make a profit.

The case is currently under investigation.
