Nghe An: Arrested for illegally transporting 30m3 of rare wood

(Baonghean.vn) - Traffic police station 5-1 Dien Chau has just caught a case of illegal transportation of a large quantity of 1A wood (rare and precious species).

On the afternoon of May 17, on Vinh bypass (in Nghi Loc district), the working group of Traffic Police Station 5-1 Dien Chau signaled to stop a tractor trailer with license plate 51C57550, pulling a container trailer with license plate 51R 10192, driven by Dang Thanh Nhan, residing in EA Tam ward - Buon Ma Thuot city, Dak Lak.

All of the rare wood has no valid documents.

The driver presented a red invoice and said the vehicle was carrying 30 tons of pepper. However, when opening the container for inspection, the working group discovered that it contained over 30m3 of type 1A (a rare species). At the time of inspection, the driver could not present the necessary documents such as: No forest product declaration, no invoice, no documents proving the origin of the wood.

All the wood was seized by the authorities for investigation.

Dien Chau Traffic Police Station is completing the case file of illegal timber transportation to hand over to the Economic Police Department of the Provincial Police to continue investigating and handling according to the provisions of the law.
