Nghe An directs to focus on effectively implementing solutions to prevent and combat human trafficking
(Baonghean.vn) - Nghe An Provincial People's Committee has just issued Official Dispatch No. 6654/UBND-NC dated August 10, 2023 directing the implementation of the recommendations of the National Assembly's Judicial Committee on compliance with the law on preventing and combating human trafficking.
The document stated: In Nghe An province, recently, functional sectors and localities have proactively done a good job in preventing and combating human trafficking crimes, achieving many remarkable results.
According to statistics, in the first 6 months of 2023, the functional forces of the whole province discovered and arrested 5 cases, 6 subjects for human trafficking, and rescued 4 victims. However, the situation of human trafficking crimes still has many complicated factors that affect security and order in the area, especially in border areas, ethnic minority areas, mountainous areas...

In order to improve the effectiveness of implementing the recommendations of the National Assembly's Committee on Judicial Affairs on compliance with the law on preventing and combating human trafficking crimes; at the same time, implementing the direction of Deputy Prime Minister Tran Luu Quang in Official Dispatch No. 5031/VPCP-NC dated July 7, 2023 of the Government Office, the Provincial People's Committee requests provincial departments, branches, sectors, mass organizations, People's Committees of districts, cities and towns, based on their functions and tasks, to well implement the following contents:
- Continue to thoroughly grasp and effectively implement the directive documents of the Government, central ministries, branches, the Provincial Party Committee, and the Provincial People's Committee on the work of preventing and combating human trafficking crimes, especially the key tasks specifically assigned to provincial departments, branches, sectors, mass organizations, and People's Committees of districts, cities, and towns in Plan No. 173/KH-UBND dated April 5, 2021 of the Provincial People's Committee on implementing the program to prevent and combat human trafficking for the period 2021 - 2025; Official Dispatch No. 5442/UBND-NC dated July 5, 2023 of the Provincial People's Committee on strengthening the fight against human trafficking and implementing activities in response to "National Day for Prevention and Combat of Human Trafficking - July 30" in 2023.

- Continue to advise on the effective implementation of socio-economic development plans and national target programs to improve income, raise living standards, cultural level and awareness of people in remote areas, economically disadvantaged areas and areas with many ethnic minorities; integrate human trafficking prevention into local socio-economic development plans.
- Department of Labor, War Invalids and Social Affairs, People's Committees of districts, cities and towns: Pay attention to implementing measures to attract and create jobs for local people to help them improve their lives to prevent trafficking; allocate resources and invest appropriate budget specifically for the work of preventing and combating human trafficking, especially the work of supporting victims of trafficking to return to their localities in accordance with the requirements and tasks in the new situation. At the same time, mobilize resources from agencies, social organizations, enterprises, international organizations and individuals for the work of preventing and combating human trafficking and supporting victims.

- Focus on effectively implementing solutions to prevent and combat human trafficking crimes in the province, in which the Provincial People's Committee recommends:
*Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of the province, socio-political organizations, Provincial Radio and Television Station, Nghe An Newspaper, Department of Information and Communications, Department of Education and Training, Department of Culture and Sports, Department of Tourism:Based on the functions and tasks, promote information and propaganda work on preventing and combating human trafficking (focusing on the crime situation and criminal activities) to all classes of people, especially those at risk of being trafficked, with methods appropriate to each subject, age, customs and practices, creating a fundamental change in awareness and action on preventing and combating human trafficking.

* Provincial Police, Provincial Border Guard Command:Proactively and effectively deploy peak periods of attack and suppression of human trafficking crimes throughout the province; organize timely reception and handling of denunciations, crime reports and recommendations for prosecution related to human trafficking.

*Investigative agencies, People's Procuracy, People's Courts at all levels:Speed up the investigation, prosecution and strict trial of human trafficking crimes in accordance with the law, promptly deterring and preventing crimes. Strengthen inspection, examination and handling of violations in the implementation of policies and laws on preventing and combating human trafficking.
