Nghe An: Industrial production index in March increased by more than 7%

Accordingly, the industrial production index in March 2023 increased by 7.09% over the same period in 2022, mainly due to the water supply industry, waste and wastewater management and treatment activities, and the mining industry.

Of which: Water supply, waste and wastewater management and treatment activities increased by 24.02%; Mining industry increased by 22.08%; Production and distribution of electricity, gas, hot water, steam and air conditioning increased by 16.23%; Processing and manufacturing industry increased by 5.37%.

In March 2023, the output of products increased compared to the same period last year, such as: Fish sauce is estimated at 22.6 million liters, up 77.43%; Sugar is estimated at 27.5 thousand tons, up 49.22%; Hoa Sen steel pipes are estimated at 4.5 thousand tons, up 37.70%; Cement clinker is estimated at 756.6 thousand tons, up 16.96%; Cement is estimated at 1,017.3 thousand tons, up 10.26%; NPK fertilizer is estimated at 931 tons, up 15.38%...

However, some businesses still face difficulties, exports decrease, input material prices increase, workers cannot be recruited, consumption market is slow, raw materials are lacking or arrive later than planned, manufactured products are difficult to sell, some businesses have workers taking turns off due to few orders affecting planned output and revenue such as: Yarn is estimated at 450 tons, down 70.34%; Handkerchiefs and scarves are estimated at 358 thousand pieces, down 31.29%; Packaging is estimated at 4.1 million pieces, down 27.60%; Wood shavings and chips are estimated at 13.2 thousand tons, down 23.8%; Construction stone is estimated at 326.4 thousand m3.³, down 22.12%.

In the first quarter of 2023, the industrial production index increased by 5.81% over the same period. Of which: Mining industry is estimated to increase by 25.74%; Production and distribution of electricity, gas, hot water, steam and air conditioning is estimated to increase by 21.68%; Processing and manufacturing industry is estimated to increase by 3.45%; Water supply, waste and wastewater management and treatment activities decreased by 1.25%.

The industrial production index increased due to businesses' efforts to return to production, increased export orders, the expansion of some factories, and newly invested projects contributing to the increase in some industrial products such as: NPK fertilizer estimated at 12.2 thousand tons, up 69.84% over the same period last year; Hoa Sen steel pipes estimated at 12.3 thousand tons, up 59.41%; Fish sauce estimated at 76.7 million liters, up 52.74%; Bottled beer estimated at 8.7 million liters, up 49.28%; Yogurt estimated at 11.1 thousand tons, up 28.24%; Tien Phong plastic pipes estimated at 4 thousand tons, up 26.75%; Cement estimated at 2.8 million tons, up 12.44%; Preliminary processed stone estimated at 162.03 thousand m3.³, up 13.68%.
