On October 17, the Nghe An Provincial Civil Defense Command issued Official Dispatch No. 56/BCH.SNNMT on proactively responding to the tropical depression near the East Sea that is likely to strengthen into a storm, sent to the People's Committees of coastal wards and communes and relevant agencies and units.

According to the bulletin of the National Center for Hydro-Meteorological Forecasting, a tropical depression is currently active in the sea east of the central Philippines, the center of the tropical depression is at about 13.5 degrees North latitude; 130.2 degrees East longitude. In the next 24 hours, the tropical depression is forecast to move west at a speed of 20-25 km/h and is likely to strengthen into a storm.

Due to the influence of this weather pattern, from October 19, the eastern sea area of ​​the North East Sea will have winds gradually increasing to level 6-7, near the storm center will have strong winds of level 8, gusting to level 10; waves from 2.5-4.5m high; rough seas.

To proactively respond to the tropical depression that is likely to strengthen into a storm, the Provincial Civil Defense Command requests the People's Committees of coastal wards and communes; the Provincial Border Guard Command; the Provincial Hydrometeorological Station; the Ben Thuy Coastal Information Station and relevant agencies and units to implement the following contents:

Closely monitor warning bulletins, forecasts and developments of tropical depressions; notify captains and owners of vehicles and vessels operating at sea to proactively prevent and have appropriate production plans, ensuring safety of people and property; maintain communication to promptly handle bad situations that may occur. Prepare forces and means to deploy rescue work when situations arise.

The mass media, especially Nghe An Newspaper and Radio and Television, should increase information about the development of the tropical depression near the East Sea that is likely to strengthen into a storm to authorities, owners of vessels operating at sea and people to proactively prevent and respond.

Organize on-duty seriously, regularly report to the Provincial Civil Defense Command to promptly direct and handle arising situations.

The Provincial Civil Defense Command requested the People's Committees of coastal wards and communes, along with relevant agencies and units, to pay attention to serious implementation and ensure safety for people and vehicles during the time when the tropical depression is likely to strengthen into a storm and move into the East Sea.
