Nghe An prepares to organize "Beautiful new rural commune model contest 2018"
(Baonghean.vn) - On the morning of May 28, the Provincial People's Committee met to listen to and give opinions on the plan to build a model new rural residential area, model garden and the plan to organize a national conference on new rural hamlets.

At the meeting, members focused on giving opinions on implementing the new rural model garden and organizing the beautiful new rural model commune contest in 2018.
According to the draft report of the Office of the National Target Program Coordination for New Rural Construction in the province, the model new rural garden is applied according to 6 criteria (12 contents), including: Planning, housing, application of scientific and technological advances, garden products, environment - landscape and income.
Accordingly, the total minimum income from the NTM model garden economy in a yearis defined according to 4 criteria such as: Garden area from 500m2 up to ≤ 1,000m2ensure minimum income from 30 million VND/year or more; garden area is 1,000m2 arrive2,000m2ensure minimum income from 50 million VND/year or more; garden area is 2,000m2 arrive3,000m2ensure minimum income from 80 million VND/year or more; garden area ≥ 3,000m2Guaranteed minimum revenue of 100 million VND/year or more.

The 2018 New Rural Model Commune Contest is expected to be held from the end of July to the end of September 2018. Accordingly, the contest will be held at the district and provincial levels; each district will select one commune, and for districts with 15 or more communes meeting the New Rural Standards, 2 typical communes will be selected to participate in the contest.
At the meeting, members gave many opinions on building a new rural model garden, accordingly, some points need to be revised: Do not set housing criteria; building a model garden must be in a commune that has met new rural standards, must have a drainage system, ensure environmental sanitation; need to change from a model garden drawing to a model garden diagram, determine the scale of the model garden...
Regarding the contest for beautiful new rural communes, members said that it is necessary to consider naming it "2018 Beautiful New Rural Commune Contest" appropriately; the contest should be postponed so that localities have time to prepare and invest in the contest carefully.

Concluding the meeting, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Dinh Viet Hong assigned the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development to collect opinions from members to complete the report and submit it to the Provincial People's Committee for approval; then localities will use the annual production support budget from the Central Government to invest in implementing the new rural model garden.
According to the Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee, it was agreed to keep the name of the 2018 New Rural Model Commune Contest; assign the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development to advise on choosing a suitable time to organize the contest; and at the same time, select 2 communes with typical villages and hamlets to prepare a report at the upcoming national forum conference.
