Nghe An: Transferred and tested 1 of 11 workers on the same flight who tested positive for Covid-19

(Baonghean.vn) - Due to high fever, Nghe An workers who had just returned on a flight with an infected person were transferred to a higher level and had their samples taken for testing.

According to the report of Nghe An Department of Health, on the evening of March 16, another case in Nghe An had its Covid-19 test sample taken to send to the Central Institute of Hygiene and Epidemiology. This case is from Quynh Giang commune, Quynh Luu, and just returned on flight QR968 on March 13 with "case 51". On this flight, there were 10 other people from Nghe An.

After determining that one of the passengers on this flight was positive for CoVid-19, Nghe An province quickly found these 11 people to quarantine. The case in Quynh Giang commune was quarantined at the Quynh Luu District Medical Center. However, he later had a high fever, so on the afternoon of March 16, he was transferred to the Tropical Disease Center of Nghe An General Hospital for isolation and treatment. Currently, this patient's fever has subsided.

Also according to the Nghe An Department of Health, as of the evening of March 16, 850 people were being quarantined and monitored in the province to prevent the epidemic, an increase of 60 cases compared to March 15.

In another development, the Ministry of Health has just announced that passengers on the 8 flights below should immediately contact the local Center for Disease Control for instructions.

According to the announcement on the evening of March 16, flights with nCoV include:

- Thai Airways TG564 from Bangkok to Hanoi on March 15;

- Singapore Airlines SQ176 from Singapore to Hanoi on March 15;

- Bamboo Airways QH1524 from Phu Quoc to Ho Chi Minh City on March 13.

- Aeroflot SU290 from Moscow to Hanoi on March 12;

- Qatar Airways QR970 from Doha to Ho Chi Minh City on March 10;

- Bamboo Airways QH1521 from Ho Chi Minh City to Phu Quoc on March 9;

- Turkey Airlines TK162 from Istanbul to Ho Chi Minh City, March 8;

- Vietjet Air's VJ826 from Malaysia to Ho Chi Minh City on March 4.

The Ministry of Health recommends that all passengers on these 8 flights contact local health facilities where they are staying for instructions on health monitoring. Ticket agents for these passengers should proactively inform customers.

On the evening of March 16, the Ministry of Health announced four new Covid-19 patients, bringing the total number of cases in Vietnam to 61. Of these, 16 have recovered since last month, and 45 are currently being treated. Covid-19 patients have appeared in 13 provinces and cities.
