Nghe An has 101 OCOP products in 2020 participating in classification evaluation
(Baonghean.vn) - Participating in the classification of the One Commune One Product OCOP program in 2020, Nghe An has 101 typical products of 16 districts, towns and cities in the province.
On the afternoon of November 9, the Council for evaluating and classifying products of the One Commune One Product (OCOP) program in Nghe An organized the opening ceremony of the competition to evaluate and classify OCOP products at the provincial level in 2020. Comrade Hoang Nghia Hieu - Member of the Provincial Party Committee, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee chaired the competition.

Participating in this contest are 101 products belonging to 6 product groups of enterprises, cooperatives, production facilities in 16 districts, towns, and cities. The 6 product groups include: Food; beverages; herbs; textiles; souvenirs, decorative furniture; tourism services.
Previously, the products were assessed and evaluated by the district-level Evaluation Council as eligible to propose the provincial-level Council to organize scoring and ranking of the products.

At the evaluation session, economic organizations and production establishments presented their product stories and answered questions from the evaluation council members. The products were scored according to the criteria for evaluating and classifying products of the One Commune One Product Program, stipulated in Decision 1048/QD-TTg dated August 21, 2019 of the Prime Minister.
Opening the contest, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's CommitteeHoang Nghia Hieubelieves that: Through product evaluation and ranking, we can gradually standardize and improve product quality to ensure compliance with domestic and international standards. Encourage and motivate economic organizations to overcome shortcomings and limitations; continue to upgrade and improve products. Encourage the start-up emulation movement based on local competitive advantages, build ideas, research and diversify products, contribute to promoting production development and product consumption, and increase income for workers.

Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee requested the Council to evaluate, recognize and rank products.OCOPof the province on the basis of the Government's regulations and the actual situation of the locality, the organization of the assessment and ranking must be strict, objective, and in accordance with regulations. Enterprises, cooperatives, and individuals, through this assessment and ranking, are given an opportunity to continue to improve the quality of their products and goods to achieve higher rankings in the coming years.
After this ranking competition, the standing agency is required to promptly advise the Provincial People's Committee to submit to the Provincial People's Council to issue policies and mechanisms to help businesses and production facilities continue to improve and enhance product quality step by step to meet domestic and export demand.
After 6 days of judging, the Evaluation and Classification Council will announce the products that achieve 3 to 4 stars.
According to Decision No. 1048/QD-TTg dated August 21, 2019 of the Prime Minister, OCOP products are evaluated in 3 parts: Products and community strength (35 points) including: Production organization, product development, community strength; marketing ability (25 points) including: Marketing, product story and product quality (40 points) including: Sensory indicators, nutrition, product uniqueness, product standards, export ability, distribution in international markets.
